How a Chevy Dealership’s Prime-Time TikTok Drove 1+ Million Views 🚘

Skits and parodies are proven ways for creators to tickle audiences on TikTok.

And when done right, brands can do the same to build serious awareness.

Humor is exactly how @MohawkChevrolet is driving consistently high engagement.  Their latest parody of The Office has earned over a million views and 100,000+ likes.

In this video (titled “The Dealership”), the Chevy crew takes us behind the scenes of ad reads gone wrong as employees struggle to promote the new electric Blazer.

The video nails both the dry humor and the mockumentary style of The Office. Meanwhile, commenters ate it up and were left wanting more of the series:

  • “I’m canceling my HBO subscription, this is my new show”

  • “I really wish this could be turned into an actual show like The Office.”

Why We ❤️ This:

  • The video is clever and creative.  While off-the-cuff content works well on TikTok, these types of productions highlight how brands can go the extra mile. Scripted skits can be a breath of fresh air when brands get them right.

  • They’ve turned this comedic concept into a series. Keep in mind that this is actually the sixth episode of the brand’s Office parody series. Chevy is quickly building a dedicated audience invested in these videos as a result.

  • The video doesn’t feel like an ad at all. Despite the sketch and its sense of humor, this is still a promotional video for the Chevy Blazer. That said, this doesn’t feel like a traditional promo video. Especially from a brand known for its big-budget television commercials.
