Piggybacking on the “How did this become this?” audio trend, Rare shows off a 12-second timelapse of their body wash being applied and rinsed. Coupled with over-the-top captions to praise the product, the video feels like a playful promo.

And despite its simplicity, the post earned 375,000+ views and a flood of positive comments from eager shoppers.

  • The video’s format is seriously simple.  Consider how brands can film these types of videos in minutes. Sometimes getting creative means thinking small.

  • The brand hops on an appropriate trending audio. The brand could have gone in a more “traditional” direction with this promo. However, the humorous caption and voiceover do the heavy lifting to boost this video. 

  • The video serves as an ad without feeling like an ad. Note how the brand tagged a slew of retailers in the video’s description. Smart move! Especially as the post’s sense of humor prevents it from feeling “salesy” at all.
